The XRAY XB8 team in Greece had a very good start for 2005. With their brand new cars the team finished as follows:
⢠3 cars in the A Final for the 1st National Race and 2 podium finishes
⢠3rd place in the Buggy Masters event - that really kick-started the season!
⢠2nd place in the 1st National Race (only 15sec behind the 1st place driver who is 7-time consecutive Greek Champion). The championship still has a long way with seven more races all over the country.

The Buggy Masters race had three 10-minute qualifiers and a 45-minute final, while the Championship Race had three 5-minute qualifiers and a 30-minute final. For the Buggy Masters I drove for the very first time the XB8 of my teammate Philip with his set-up in a brand new track without any time of practice; but after a big abuse of my car and with the wrong choice of tyres I managed to finish 3rd with a broken piston. That fact made a great impression on me and all the other competitors, because I was not used to such a reliable car. For the 1st National Race the whole team had again zero practice time, which meant no experience with the track because of heavy rain the day before the event.

But everything went smoothly for the reliable and fast XRAY XB8 cars and for me and my teammates who used all the available time trying to find the correct set-ups without any problems for the cars. I managed to finish on the podium again and I am looking forward to the next races and the great experience to drive the "buggy of the year."
